According to Politifact.com, 70% of Donald Trump's statements rated as False, Mostly False and the flaming Pants-On-Fire. [1]
In contrast, Hillary Clinton's statements score 74% on the true side of the scale, rating True, Mostly True or Half True.[2]
But to give a more comprehensive score, one should quantify his overall "falsiness" under Politifact's rating system. To do this I translated their scale to numeric values and used those values to weigh the results accordingly:
0.00 True
0.25 Mostly True (so 75% true, 25% false)
0.50 Half True (or 50% false)
0.75 Mostly False
1.00 False
2.00 Pants On Fire (or double false)
At the time of writing, Trump's tally comes out to a whopping 93% Falsiness.
To be fair, I begrudgingly add that Clinton's 26% False rated statements translate to her getting a 43% overall falsiness score, but for her the majority of the false scoring comes from Half-True rated statements. Trump's purely False and Pants-On-Fire statements dominate the statements in his scoring. Bad! Very Bad!
Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies.
Now that he believes he has won the office, the flipping and back-peddling has begun. Two of the major policy promises he made -- removing Obamacare and marriage equity legislation -- both essential reason people voted for him are now off the table. [3][4]
It enrages me when I hear people supported Trump because they wanted a change, and believe it could come from Trump simply because he is not a politician. Isn't lying considered the primary negative flaw in politicians?
- Lying in not upholding campaign promises
- Lying in the oaths lawmakers take that they will represent their constituents when voting on legislation according to lobby interests
- Even lying about private, personal sexual relations between another consenting adult that no one has business knowing about.
Trump's lying qualifies him for the primary characteristic of a seasoned politician. If it looks like a turd, smells like a turd, and came out of an ass, it's a turd people! So it defies logic that Trump supporters believe that Trump is something other than a politician, at least in anyway that will will bring the change they claim to want.
Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies.
He lies. Even before he started his campaign, lying has been rampant through his business practices demonstrated by the plethora of lawsuits against him. [5]
Lies in the form of contracts not fulfilled, workers not paid, lies about wealth students of his "University" would expect. And what isn't out as lies has been hidden by payoffs A.K.A. "settlements" or shut down with threats. I could go through the examples in detail but they are just too sickening for me right now. My stomach is threatening to reject my lunch reviewing the list. Please see for yourself from the list USAToday is keeping.
Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies. Lies.
There, I said it.
